This weekend is very special because we are celebrating Diwali on this weekend. Over this weekend, Diwali is just around the corner. The term Deepavali or Diwali meaning ‘collection or row of lights’ was derived from the Sanskrit words ‘deep’ which means lamp, lantern or light and ‘avali’ which means a row or array.

This festival is celebrated on Amavasya or ‘no moon’ day and heralds the dawn of a New Year according to the Hindu calendar. It also foretells of fresh beginnings as we open new checkbooks and diaries as well as clean our homes.
I am very excited to celebrate this Diwali and enjoy the time with friends and family. A time for celebration. A display of good over evil.
Everyone in India, regardless of religion or caste, revels in the spectacular festival of lights. Homes are lit up, and open, inviting the Goddess of wealth, luck and prosperity – Lakshmi – into their homes and lives.

May the light that we celebrate at Diwali show us the way and lead us together on the path of peace and social harmony.
A festival full of sweet childhood memories, a sky full of fireworks, mouth full of sweets, a house full of diyas and heart full of joy.
Wishing you all my blogger friends around the world a very happy Diwali!
May the festival of joy become more beautiful for you and family. All your new ventures get success and progress.
Happy Diwali!

Let each diya you light bring a glow of happiness on your face and enlighten your soul. Happy Diwali!
What a beautiful post.
Happy belated diwali. 🙂

So true. Diwali is more like India’s festival than any religion’s. ❤️
